STIGMATIZATION

STIGMATIZATION
The Prison authorities in our nation, Nigeria have observed that there is an increase in the numbers of ex-convicts going back to criminal activities after completion of their jail terms.
This increase in returning to criminal activities by ex-prisoners has been traced to the stigmatization they suffer in the hands of the people of their various communities in our society and nation. What a pity!
This negative attitude of the people in our society has to be worked upon so as to create a conducive environment for the reception and acceptance of prisoners who have completed their terms and released from prison.
This development however gives us chaplains in Nigeria the opportunity to offer professional chaplaincy services to such ex-prisoners in helping to integrate them back into their various communities, families and the society at large after the completing their jail terms.
Chaplains you do not need special recognition from government to render this services as the government of the federation is interested in their rehabilitation.
NB: Numerous opportunities are opened to us to function professionally; but it requires that chaplains humble themselves for profitable trainings and in the right place to be able to discharge their duties without disgrace. The technicality and the challenges in offering this services shall be made bear to you during the training.
The nitty-gritty will also be made known to you as you embrace professional chaplaincy practice; for the work of reintegrating ex-prisoners back to the society and rehabilitating them to make them live normal life out of prison is beyond visiting prisons and ministering to inmates.
This is the more reason why we are calling on all chaplains to embrace professional chaplaincy trainings. If you are interested in providing this kind of service contact Chap. Prof. Mike – 08092601117, WhatsApp – 09091981944.
Join the revolutionary move!
