Network is your
Net-worth as Chaplains
Beloved
professional chaplains, chaplaincy profession is a profession that gives you
all the opportunities in networking with professional clergies,
interdisciplinary professionals, interprofessional team, professional
colleagues, senior colleagues and supervisors in the practice of professional
chaplaincy and service delivery.
Chaplaincy
practice gives chaplains the opportunity in networking with others to provide
needed care and services or providing solutions to knotty problems bedeviling
people in our various communities and societies where we operate.
In this kind
of professional networking, professional chaplains are able to showcase their
net-worth. Professional chaplains should be able to leverage on the opportunity
they have in networking with other professionals who could shape people’s
attitudes and professional practices.
Chaplaincy,
its practice and service delivery is not only about trainings, but also
practical activities to better the lots of people the practioners are called to
serve, give attention to and listen to in their professional life.
Professional
chaplains who have the calling and responsibility to provide needed solutions
to problems other’s are facing in network with other professionals, build good
relationship with people to enable them leverage on people for advancement.
While I am
advocating networking with others (colleagues, other professionals) and
building good relationship with people for effective discharge of chaplaincy
practice and service delivery.
It is of
important and beneficial for chaplains to learn to network with professional
counterparts nationally, internationally and globally for global best practice
and service delivery.
Chaplains
that can network with other professionals in different fields of endeavor must
to be adequately trained and able to discharge competently with skills, proving
the efficacy and effectiveness of their choice profession in a way that will
convince other professionals that chaplaincy is worthwhile/accepting/embracing.
While
quality professional education is of paramount important in chaplaincy,
especially the earning of professional chaplaincy degree which makes chaplains
credential certified professionals and they may have other credits; chaplains
net-worth actually comes from how competently they offer chaplaincy care and
services in meeting with people’s need and how they leverage on the
relationship they have built and advance their practice and profession.
We need to
prove to other professionals we network with that chaplaincy is a needed
profession, cut across other professions to meet the wholistic need of humans
for wholistic health and wellbeing.
We need to
show them our net-worth by showcasing the effectiveness and efficacy of our
profession through best practice in bringing healing and wholesomeness to
people in whatever situation they found themselves.
Our
commitment to establishing high standard professional chaplaincy practice and
service delivery requires that we all practice chaplaincy professionally and
with passion too.
We are
expected to innovatively and creatively go about our practices in solving
problems. The need for networking comes from our understanding that people are
endowed with different innovations and creativities, which makes networking
profitable and also desirable.
As
practicing professional chaplains, network with those in your communities if
you are likely to have any, network with those in your state if there are such
professionals, at your regional levels too, if there are any and also at the
national level for effective and efficient service delivery per excellence.
