Mandatory Nature of
professional Chaplaincy Practice
Preamble: It is a known fact that all known
professions in the world have special ways and procedures for conducting
practices particular to them. For example:
1. All practicing engineers are expected
to practice engineering in total compliance with the ethics of engineering
profession for the benefit of the public, the profession as well as the
practicing engineers themselves or their engineering companies. There is
therefore an accepted engineering practice.
2. All practicing accountants are
expected to practice accountancy or accounting in accordance with the
procedures and processes laid down by accounting profession and its various
professional bodies for the benefit of general public.
There is therefore what is known and accepted as standard of
accountancy or accounting practice that can always be made reference to in
practice by every accounting practitioner.
3. All practicing lawyers, attorneys
etc., are expected to practice law as laid down by the legal council and the
legal profession. This practice must of necessity follow a pattern, procedure
and processes laid down by the profession for the benefit of the public, the
legal profession and the practicing lawyers themselves.
Ina nut shell, there is an acceptable pattern of legal
practice which cannot be compromised.
