Preparing
Chaplains for Future Assignments after this Pandemic
Professional chaplaincy and service delivery requires
proactive thinking and strategic planning. Fire brigade approach has never
profited any one or profession.
Since the World War II, and about the year 1940-1945,
corona virus pandemic outbreak has been unimaginable surge ravaging the entire
world. It has place the world in a tragic catastrophic situation.
If we survive the corona virus pandemic, the surviving
people and the world will be left with numerous traumas and unimaginable
problems which will require professional interventions and solutions.
This informs this preparation of chaplains for greater
assignment at the aftermath of this pandemic. Chaplains must be prepared now
for the future. Interested chaplains should contact Chap. Prof. Mike David.
Envisage
problems and challenges that may bedevil the world at the end of corona virus
pandemic:
Beloved chaplains, if corona virus pandemic comes to
an end and the world is free from is free from its ravaging effects, the
survivors will be bedeviled with numerous problems and challenges which will
require intervention and therapeutic considerations from professionals. Such
problems and challenges as envisaged are as follows:
1.
What will remain
of the nations of the world will be a wreckage which will require restructuring,
repositioning and rebuilding in all aspects. Interdisciplinary professionals
will be required to take or bring a new world out of the wreckages that will be
left behind by this pandemic.
2.
Systems that
ruled the present world would have been completely ruined, requiring that new
system be put in place. This also will present new challenges to
interdisciplinary professionals, system analysts and problem solvers who will
be faced with the problems of putting in place new systems.
3.
There will be a
new race for supremacy amongst nations in the new world that will emerge from
the wreckages of this present world – requiring professional international
politicians to have a free day.
4.
World economy is
envisaged to be in shambles, total ruins requiring economic experts to put the
economy back in place.
5.
The pandemic
survivors will have problems of unemployment and social vices will be on the
high rate requiring professionals in work and labour matters to have enough to
chew.
6.
The emerging world
from the pandemic will be highly indebted requiring experts to de-negotiate
debts, loans, etc.
7.
The survivors of
the pandemic will experience poverty, highly indebted seeking professionals
that will bring them out of poverty. Here chaplains will be best suited in
assisting the people who survive the pandemic.
8.
Numerous health
problems will be left behind for the emerging world and survivors of the
pandemic, keeping health professionals on their toes to help find solutions to
the forth coming health issues after this pandemic.
9.
Survivors will be
left with numerous mental health problems requiring the intervention and care
of mental health professionals such mental health doctors and nurses,
psychologists, psychiatrists and mental health chaplains.
10.
The survivors of
this pandemic will be left with many psychological, emotional, physical and
spiritual problems requiring the services of professionals in the help and care
ministry such as psychiatrists, psychologists, psycho-spirituotheraspist,
spirituotherapists.
11.
The survivors of
this pandemic will be left with a disintegrated family system and a complete
ruins of the family will emerge, which will call for professional family
doctors and family chaplains for intervention and for solving the pending
problems envisaged in families after this pandemic in the emerging world.
12.
The emerging
world and survivors of this pandemic will be left with religious problems and
confusion as the present world religions have failed to meet with the felt
needs of their adherents especially in the establishment of unity and peaceful
co-existence to the people in this present world, calling for interfaith,
multifaith ministers and chaplains and interreligious harmony.
13.
The devastating
effect of the pandemic will give rise to a lot of environmental problems will
affect the planet earth, the soil, the vegetation, birds and animals requiring
environmental experts, Eco chaplains and environmental chaplains to provide the
needed solutions to such problems.
There will be a new drive for survivors
of this pandemic to shun arrogance and pride, humbling themselves to turn to
their Creator, God; giving Him His rightful place in their lives, their
affairs, allowing Him to rule in the affairs of men; worshiping Him in truth
and spirit. The worship of men, money and material wealth has failed this
present world woefully.
