Billable Services
In the service industry, and all professions found in service
industries, there are billable and non-billable services.
Beloved chaplains in Nigeria and by extension continent of
Africa, I stand to let you know that chaplaincy services are billable services.
Professional services everywhere in the world are billable. It is therefore an
error of judgement classifying chaplaincy services as non-billable.
This is the more
reason why we have been advocating “chaplaincy practice in for-profit setting”
and we have also been calling all chaplains to release themselves for
professional chaplaincy training which will make qualify to offer billable
services to people.
This training is far beyond mere physical exercise, matching
and parade drills which makes chaplains physically fit for the assignment to be
given to them. Come one, come all for this specialized professional chaplaincy
training and be qualified to for billable chaplaincy services in your various
communities.
Please not that chaplains for reasons may decide to offer
non-billable services to the public out of their own volition such as becoming:
a.
Volunteer
chaplains after retirement from active services, but now offering volunteer
services.
b.
When
reaching out with professional chaplaincy practice to the public or
organization before acceptance and recognition is granted.
c.
In
emergency situations, when it will be foolery for any professional to negotiate
remuneration and fee for services.
Whatever services chaplains offer in
such situation may be classified as non-billable services.
