1.     Identifying the status of chaplaincy profession and practice in Nigeria and continent of Africa:
i.        What is the status of chaplaincy profession and practice in Nigeria/Africa at the present time?
ii.      Is chaplaincy being practiced in Nigeria/Africa professionally?
iii.    What kind of chaplaincy is being practiced in Nigeria/Africa presently and what areas of specialization and field of endeavor?
iv.   Who are those involved in the practicing of chaplaincy in Nigeria/Africa?
a.     Amateurs? b. Non-professionals? c. Quacks? d. para-professionals? e. Lay chaplains? f. Trainee chaplains? g. Professional chaplains?
v.     What is the level of chaplaincy practice in Nigeria/Africa?
vi.   What are the some of the challenges confronting chaplaincy practice in Nigeria/Africa?
2.     Identifying the desired status and scope of chaplaincy profession and practice in Nigeria/Africa in the nearest future:
i.        What is the envisaged level of chaplaincy profession in the next 5 to 10 years?
ii.      What level of chaplaincy practice do we envisage in the nearest future in Nigeria/Africa?
iii.    What level of professionals do we envisage will be practicing of chaplaincy in the future?
iv.   What level of chaplaincy competence do we envisage amongst practicing chaplains in the nearest future?
3.     Strategic planning and actualization of this dream:
i.        How do we produce and grow the needed man-power for chaplaincy practice in Nigeria/Africa?
ii.      What kind of chaplaincy education must we put in place for chaplains to practice chaplaincy professionally?
iii.    What kind of professional training must we provide for chaplains who are to practice chaplaincy professionally?
iv.   How should chaplaincy be practiced amongst the general public that will grant chaplaincy positive recognition?
v.     How can we ensure actualization of professional chaplaincy practice for every chaplain in the nearest future?
NB: Goals must be set for the actualization of the mission we have for the professional practice in the nearest future.
