Steps that
MUST be taken by Any Chaplain who desires to become a Professional Chaplain in
Nigeria:
1.
Must be sure
he/she has a calling unto chaplaincy.
2.
Must be prepared
to make chaplaincy his/her chosen profession, not a hobby.
3.
Must have at
least basic secular education, minimum of O’ Level, but higher educational
qualification an advantage.
4.
Must have basic
chaplaincy education, advance chaplaincy education an added advantage.
5.
Must have
seminary training and education from first degree or to post graduate studies.
6.
Must be an
ordained clergy of his/her religion, authorized to minister to people of
various faith (inter-faith Minister).
7.
Must pass through
the professional training (CCPE Studies) that will allow him/her to be
certified to practice chaplaincy professionally.
8.
Must be engaged
in supervised chaplaincy practice and obtain CCPE Units.
