Digital Chaplaincy Practice
The world has gone digital, every system or thing is going digital as well. Archbishop Prof. David Mike-Jacobs JP, AP, CPC, who happens to be the founding patriarch of professional chaplaincy practice in the continent of Africa, Nigeria in particular is also the transvisionary leader of EVP (Evidence base chaplaincy practice) in this part of the world.
He also founded the uncommon professional chaplaincy practice on social media (WhatsApp) on Jan. year AD 102018, has carried out this practice for more than two years now and has decided to move to the next level by instituting “Digital chaplaincy and service delivery” on the 1st of May year 2019 which is the African continental day of chaplaincy and the commencement of civil, public and private chaplaincy as well as chaplaincy training in the continent of Africa.
The services of the practice detailing will be carried into this next level of digitalization of chaplaincy practice.
Digital chaplaincy practice thus instituted by Archbishop Prof. David Mike-Jacobs JP, AP, CPC, will make use of social media in disseminating of information and training. He intends to make use of the following social media such as whatsapp, facebook, e-mail, Instagram, twitter, Youtube etc. This digital chaplaincy practice thus instituted to offer the following services:
1.     Digital chaplaincy practice training for all chaplains, trainees and candidates who desire to learn to practice chaplaincy professionally via social media.
2.     Digital chaplaincy service delivery and placement for chaplains.
3.     Provide supervised chaplaincy practicum to all in preparation for professional chaplaincy certification.
4.     Providing professional chaplaincy education and training.
5.     Providing CCPE programme of study for interested chaplains who may want to offer the general public spiritual care services and certification.
NB: Thus digital chaplaincy practice training may require that candidates receive hard copies of materials as well as by post for some overseas.
A registered chaplaincy outfit put in place by Archbishop Prof. David Mike-Jacobs JP, AP, CPC, called Quad “C” Chaplaincy Service Providers will take responsibility for the running of digital chaplaincy practice.
