Chaplaincy is NOT a Breeding Ground for Militias or Terrorists

Chaplaincy is NOT a Breeding Ground for Militias or Terrorists
Chaplains beware of pollution and bastardization; chaplaincy is not a breeding ground for militias or terrorists, neither can chaplaincy platform be used to market weapons of destruction or warfare. Beware!
Pollution and bastardization is subtly creeping into chaplaincy in Nigeria and continent of Africa, Beware! Chaplaincy is never a breeding place or the platform for criminals nor militias nor religious terrorists.
For a better understanding, permit me to take you back a little on memory lane: chaplaincy has been in existence right from the first century as a structured and principled profession and practice without carrying weapons.
In the 11th century to be precise, chaplaincy without the use of weapons was granted official recognition and approval in Britain. In the 12th century likewise, President Willson Churchhill of America gave chaplaincy profession and practice official recognition. Precisely, in the year 1930, chaplaincy attained a professional status globally without the use of weapons.
It is unfortunate that while professional chaplains from advance nations of the world are busy working on how to further the development and advancement of chaplaincy profession, practice and service delivery; ignorant chaplaincy leaders in the continent of Africa especially, Nigeria in particular are busy polluting the profession and its practice.
While professional chaplains from developed nations ensured that chaplains and trainee chaplains have sound theological education up to master degree level with chaplaincy options and concentrations; chaplains from continent of Africa and Nigeria to be precise, encouraged zero education base chaplaincy in the year 1995, which has led to the growth and development of illiterate chaplains from Africa while their counterparts from developed nations are highly educated. This of course is a pollution and bastardization.
While professional chaplains from developed nations are busy seeking to ensure evidence based chaplaincy practice is incorporated into the professional chaplaincy and spiritual care practice; chaplains in the continent of Africa are busy introducing uniform, ranks, impersonation, carrying of weapons to member chaplains, with the intentions of breeding para-military chaplains. This is criminal and must be nipped in the board.
I call upon all chaplains and chaplaincy leaders to openly reject any move from any quarter or any self-styled generals wishing or planning to make chaplaincy a breeding place for terrorists.
The nobility of chaplaincy profession and that of chaplains must be jealously guarded. Any chaplain who wishes to engage in the name of light weapons should go to government approval and market such openly to all citizens and not chaplains. Chaplaincy is not a weapon carrying outfit.
We of the Association of Professional Chaplains and Prodam-J Chaplaincy Concept will not condone the bastardization of chaplaincy profession and practice in any way. All chaplains must be prepared to create within the preparedness of chaplaincy decorum.
NB: One of the mandates we enjoy as chaplains is “fostering unity and peaceful coexistence” amongst people of various communities of the world.
We will resist any attempt that is capable of causing unrest and unnecessary tension and warfare. Advertising weapons, no matter how light such weapons are on chaplaincy platforms and mobilizing chaplains to be ready for any form of attack.
It is also a more subtle way of raising a militia group or a terrorist group. We have to combat with presently.
Government and people of this nation should bring to book people who because of selfish desires are fanning the ember of disunity.
God bless Chaplaincy Profession

Proper Understanding of Chaplaincy is a MUST for Us

Proper Understanding of Chaplaincy is a MUST for Us
Preamble:
Chaplaincy has become a household word in various societies of our world and age; yet there are a lot of confusion and misgiven surrounding chaplaincy, chaplaincy practice and service delivery, especially in the continent of Africa and Nigeria in particular.
Proper understanding of what chaplaincy is and stand for will be of tremendous assistance for the people in placing chaplaincy where it belongs and also assist the practicing practioners (chaplains) to understand what they are called to do, and how serious they need to take such calling for the benefit of humanity.
Chaplaincy: Chaplaincy is people-oriented, people-focused and people-concerned. Without people, there is nothing called chaplaincy. Chaplaincy devotes her attention and gives her all to people such as in:-
1.     People’s comfort and joy.
2.     People’s care and welfare.
3.     People’s wholeness.
4.     People’s wellness and health both physically, spiritually, psychological, emotionally and otherwise.
5.     People’s wholesomeness.
6.     People’s development and advancement.
7.     People’s behaviours and interpersonal relationships.
8.     People’s responses and reactions to situations etc.
It is therefore no wonder that chaplaincy has rightly been said to be people oriented profession. Chaplaincy treasures God-given life to individual persons and people’s lives collectively.
Chaplaincy at all times seeks to uphold the sacredness and sanctity of life as endowed everyone by the Almighty God. The practicing professional of chaplaincy are held bound to esteem life as important and sacred, allowing no one to toy with people’s lives in their professional practice and service delivery.
What Chaplaincy Profession is all About:
Because chaplaincy is cut to safeguard God-given lives; all problems in the life journey of people becomes the concern in chaplaincy profession and practice, and her professionals at any point in time seeks to handle life issues and problems with the views of finding the needed solutions to them; to ensure that people enjoy their God-given lives to the fullest with minimal pains, sufferings and agonies.
1.     Chaplaincy profession is not in any way to bring confusion nor compound the problems of people in life; but it is a profession cut out to seek for a way of solving problems, bringing meaning to people’s life and adding value to people’s life.
2.     Chaplaincy profession is cut out to give succor and comfort to people who have actually been beaten and bartered by life circumstances, people who have been treated badly by others and the society.
3.     Chaplaincy profession is cut out to ensure peaceful co-existence between all people irrespective of their differences, religions, cultures, sexualities etc. in various communities and societies where chaplaincy presence is felt.
The practicing professionals called “Chaplains” are mandated to develop programmes that will neutralize bitter jealousy, anger, bitterness etc. but bring people together with mutual understanding to ensure peaceful co-existence in all cultures, communities and societies of our world.
4.     Chaplaincy is a profession seeking to attend to all known problems of people, with the intention of helping to bring solution to such problems, thereby releasing the people to enjoy their liberties planned for them by the Almighty God.
Problems that are capable of brining pains, sorrows, sufferings and hurting upon people are addressed and attended to by practicing professional in chaplaincy practice and service delivery in various societies, such as listed below:-
a.     Relationship problems that seem to cause hurting, hatred and sorrow in people who are in unhealthy relationships. Practicing professionals are expected to develop therapeutic programme to help the victims and heal their hurting; so that they live their lives with less agony and suffering while in relationships.
b.     Marital problems, which may affect the productivity of people in every life’s endeavours. The practicing professionals of chaplaincy are expected to design and develop therapeutic treatment plan in regards to helping the couple to solve their problem and maintain and enjoy a good marital relationship.
c.      Addiction problems, capable of destroying the personality of people and render them worthless in life. The practicing professionals of chaplaincy are expected to fashion out interventions, treatment and recovery programmes for the addicts to enable them bounce back to normalcy.
d.     And many other problems that people are confronted with in life, professional practicing chaplains are expected to help and find how to solve them and give the people meaning in life.
In Conclusion, I wish to say more emphatically that proper understanding of chaplaincy becomes a necessity for us now; that the practicing professionals of chaplaincy profession may know how to go about the discharge of their duties as professional chaplaincy practioners.

World Population

World Population
Tactically, our world can be categorized into two major categories, and every nation can also be classified along these two major categories as far as the population and people of the world are concerned. Such major categories are:-
1.     The military population.
2.     The civilian population.
The military population is usually smaller than the civilian population, the military is established to protect the civilian population. The civilian population is greater than the military population which forms the bulk of the various societies of the world.
Beloved, there is nothing derogatory about civilian population or being civil. Civil engineers are proud to be civil engineers, offering civil engineering services in both the military and the civilian population. Civil aviation professionals are happy and proud to be opportune to offer civil aviation services to the civilian population of the world.
In almost every nations of the world, there are civil servants or public workers working in the civil and public services offering beneficial services to the people of various nations of the world.
People who work in the public institutions or work for various governments of nations of the world are called public servants, and there is nothing to be ashamed of in being classified as public servants or workers.
There are respectable professional accountants classified as public accountants. There are also private practioners and professionals who offer services to the general public as private practioners in various known professions.
People who consider, civil, public and private classification as insulting and derogatory in life, especially chaplains who abhor civil or public or private chaplaincy should go back to school for reorientation.
We are proud to be civil and private chaplains. In our capacities as civil or private chaplains; we are favourably positioned to offer beneficial chaplaincy services to the civilian population of our nation and continent.
We are proud to be civil chaplains serving the greater majority of our population and taking chaplaincy to all civilians in every sector of our national economy. We are civil chaplains and delighted to offer chaplaincy care and services in public institutions and government domain.
We are also proud and happy to be opportune to offer professional services as chaplains in private organizations and institutions to the people of various societies of our world.
What we are building at Prodam-J Chaplaincy Concept and Institute and Association of Professional Chaplains are professional civil chaplains, public chaplains and private chaplains to serve in the new dimension of chaplaincy we have brought to this part of the world as it is done in the developed nations of the world.
People who feel they must be military before doing chaplaincy should find their ways to the military or para-military institutions.

Spiritual Care and Concern

Spiritual Care and Concern
The spiritual concern of most renowned evangelists in the world make them to venture into tele-evangelization so as to enable them reach the greater percentage of souls perishing in sin and suffering in the hands of satan to rescue them.
Tele-evangelists have been in the vanguard of rescuing the perishing souls from enclaves of satan and eternal death, they have thus used television, telecast, satellite, radio and video scopes as the means of reaching the greater population of the world with the gospel message; thus providing a platform for the rescue of souls that are perishing and may finally be doomed for eternal damnation called spiritual death. What a wonderful ministry?
In the same vein, knowledge-authorities in chaplaincy have discovered that there is a need for the incorporation of spiritual care as an integral part of chaplaincy practice and service delivery to enable practicing chaplains attend to the spirits and souls of their clients.
The understanding of the fact that every living creature has a spirit assigned to it including human beings which requires special care, concern and attention, make chaplains to move to the idea of tele-chaplaincy in the year 2015AD to enable them offer spiritual care to the spirits and souls of their clients.
Chaplains who thus employed the television, telecast, radio or video to offer spiritual care and therapy are classified and called “Tele-chapalins.” This is the latest development and advancement in chaplaincy practice and service delivery which has come as a vindication for my call and advocacy for professional chaplaincy practice.
NB: While the tele-evengalists are preoccupied with how to win souls, how to rescue the perishing from the hands of satan and sin and to free them from eternal death; tele-chaplains are preoccupied with the followings:-
1.     Providing people the needed spiritual care and service delivery in whatever they are passing through, with the views of helping them to navigate positively without their souls being destroyed or their spirits been crushed.
2.      They provide spiritual care to souls who are crushed with psychological problems in life, with the views of liberating them to be able to life their normal life.
3.     They provide spiritual care to souls that have been frustrated, hopeless and in despair, with the views of taking them away from hopelessness and despair.
4.     They provide spiritual care to souls that are emotionally and spiritually battered, needing revitalization and encouragement to enable them to desire to continue living and fulfill their God-given destiny.

Occupation and Craft Transforming into a Profession, a Case Study of Nigeria Experience

Occupation and Craft Transforming into a Profession, a Case Study of Nigeria Experience
In 21st century Nigeria, there is an emergency of an occupation and craft as “Alaga Ijoko and Alaga Iduro (Masters of Ceremonies) especially at weddings, traditional marriages and engagements to be very precise, founded around year 2000AD. The craft emerged powerfully and swept across the entire nation with a period of 15 to 20 years.
The occupation and craft received the acceptance of the general public which made school teachers join the race, brought in singing and dancing, preparing young ladies to dance for a side show, introducing talking drums and drummers to add color to the occasion.
With the public acceptance, members of this occupation came together formed a powerful association and the occupation became lucrative. The lucrativeness of the occupation and craft, made educated elites who are university graduates of various disciplines to go into its practice and some of them are master’s degree holders in the occupation today.
The presence of these graduates with higher education has helped the occupation in no small ways in transforming itself into a profession. These graduates were able to receive respect, acceptance from the public as they promoted the occupation to the public.
As they were able to showcase creativity, innovation in various assignments given to them, they built the needed trust with the general public and helped to advance the occupation to a professional status.
They also repackaged and rebranded the occupation and called themselves masters of ceremonies and their profession as speaking profession as they also become motivational speakers.
They have also expanded the scopes to include offering services to corporate organizations at seminars, conferences etc. as masters of ceremonies or motivational speakers. They did not for one day relied on government nor sort government employment; they offered what they had to the general public and obtained the needed recognition.
We are all living witnesses of the emergence and the transformation, as it only happen in this particular century - 21st century.
What a wonderful experience, if an occupation or craft has advanced to a professional status within 20 years of emergence, what is wrong with chaplaincy and chaplains in Nigeria that they have not for close to 40 years of existence has not been able to professionalize chaplaincy?
Arise now and let us all move chaplaincy to the next level.
