Navigating through Life Difficulties or through Difficulties in life

Navigating through Life Difficulties or through Difficulties in life
Preamble:
There are so many or numerous difficulties people are made to encounter in life’s journey. It is also becoming increasingly difficult for people to navigate through such difficulties on their own without professional help or assistance.
This is the reason why we have the professional mandate as chaplains to assist or help people to navigate profitably through life’s difficulties and challenges which they are faced with as they journey through life stages.
What a wonderful profession and unique opportunity to serve humanity!
Life: Is defined as;
1.     As in being, that which exist in any form, whether it be material of people, actual or ideal.
2.     Living existence as distinguished from things without life.
3.     The state of being which begins with generation, birth, and ends with death; also the time being which this state continues.
4.     The union of the soul and body and the duration of their union, sometimes proceeding to the deathless quality of the soul.
5.     Certain way or manner of living, with respect to condition, circumstances, character, conduct, occupation etc.
6.     Something dear to one as life existence.
Difficulty: Is defined as;
1.     The state of being difficult or hard to do.
2.     Hardness or harduousness, something hard to do or understand.
3.     That which occasions labour requiring skill and perseverance to overcome, solve or achieve.
4.     A hard enterprise, an obstacle.
5.     A controversy, falling out, disagreement, an objection etc.
Navigate: Navigating can be defined as:-
1.     Directing carefully and safely.
Life’s difficulties or difficulties in life can rightly be said to be the followings:-
1.     Hindrances to God’s given life and purposes.
2.     Obstacles to the smooth running of life.
3.     Blockages that prevent actualization and fulfillment of life’s goals.
4.     Unnecessary diversion from focus and achievements.
5.     Challenges capable of truncating or changing one’s purpose for existence.
6.     Hard and difficult situations, conditions and circumstances that require professional skills and competence to solve.
7.     Confrontations that seems to make life unbearable for people and make life distasteful.
How then can we as Professional Chaplains assist or help people in Navigating through Life’s Difficulties?
1.     We must first and foremost identify the difficulties, challenges and obstacles they have.
2.     Give them proper direction as to how to overcome such hindrances.
3.     Help them circumvent obstacles or hindrances as water or river does to any obstacles and beyond the obstacles continues its journey.
4.     Helping to find needed solutions to problems that constitute themselves to obstacles or hindrances.
5.     Only professional chaplains who have the skills and experience will be able to help people navigate through life’s difficulties.
The bottom line here again is adequate training and competence which is gained through experiences. This is the more reason why we of Association of Professional Chaplains in Nigeria and continent of Africa emphasizes on adequate training for competent professional chaplaincy practice and service delivery.
Many of the tasks and assignments we are called upon to handle and perform can never be handled by quacks, proper and adequate training is key to effective chaplaincy service delivery.
The understanding of every professional mandate by practicing chaplains is of paramount importance as this understanding will aid performance.
APCIN provides you the opportunity to become a chaplaincy specialist if you so desire. Specialist chaplaincy professionals are highly needed in various societies of our world.
Make up your mind to become one and contact the undersigned for specialized training, you will be glad you do.
