CAN DRUG (HARD DRUGS) CONSUMPTION BE RIGHTLY CLASSIFIED AS THE RESULTANT EFFECT OF CIVILIZATION, INDUSTRIALIZATION AND MODERNITY ON THE SOCIETY?

CAN DRUG (HARD DRUGS) CONSUMPTION BE RIGHTLY CLASSIFIED AS THE RESULTANT EFFECT OF CIVILIZATION, INDUSTRIALIZATION AND MODERNITY ON THE SOCIETY?

Some people in our world today believe, and many more are made to believe that consumption and use of hard drugs by the youths of our generation is the resultant effect of civilization, industrialization and modernity. Some steps will be taken in this discourse with the intention of bringing the people of our generation to the truth.

STEP 1           HISTORY AND ORIGIN OF THE EXISTENCE OF HARD DRUGS:
Drug use and abuse is as old as mankind itself. Human beings have always had a desire to eat or drink substances that make them feel relaxed, stimulated, or euphoric. The start of farming about 6000 B.C. and the later discovery of fermentation were closely followed by the production of alcohol.
Humans have used drugs of one sort or another for thousands of years. Wine was used at least from the time of the early Egyptians; narcotics from 4000 B.C.; and medicinal use of marijuana has been dated to 2737 B.C. in China.
A common belief is that psychotropic plant chemicals evolved recurrently throughout evolutionary history. Roughly 13,000 years ago, the inhabitants of Timor commonly used betel nut (Areca catechu), as did those in Thailand around 10,700 years ago.
At the beginning of European colonialism, and perhaps for 40,000 years before that, Australian aborigines used nicotine from two different indigenous sources: pituri plant (Duboisia hopwoodii) and Nicotiana gossel.
But not until the 19th cent. A.D. were the active substances in drugs extracted. There followed a time when some of these newly discovered substances—morphine, laudanum, cocaine—were completely unregulated and prescribed freely by physicians for a wide variety of ailments. They were available in patent medicines and sold by traveling tinkers, in drugstores, or through the mail.
During the American Civil War, morphine was used freely, and wounded veterans returned home with their kits of morphine and hypodermic needles. Opium dens flourished. By the early 1900s there were an estimated 250,000 addicts in the United States.
The problems of addiction were recognized gradually. Legal measures against drug abuse in the United States were first established in 1875, when opium dens were outlawed in San Francisco. The first national drug law was the Pure Food and Drug Act of 1906, which required accurate labeling of patent medicines containing opium and certain other drugs.
In 1914 the Harrison Narcotic Act forbade sale of substantial doses of opiates or cocaine except by licensed doctors and pharmacies. Later, heroin was totally banned.
Subsequent Supreme Court decisions made it illegal for doctors to prescribe any narcotic to addicts; many doctors who prescribed maintenance doses as part of an addiction treatment plan were jailed, and soon all attempts at treatment were abandoned.
Use of narcotics and cocaine diminished by the 1920s. The spirit of temperance led to the prohibition of alcohol by the Eighteenth Amendment to the Constitution in 1919, but Prohibition was repealed in 1933.
In the 1930s most states required antidrug education in the schools, but fears that knowledge would lead to experimentation caused it to be abandoned in most places.
Soon after the repeal of Prohibition, the U.S. Federal Bureau of Narcotics (now the Drug Enforcement Administration) began a campaign to portray marijuana as a powerful, addicting substance that would lead users into narcotics addiction. In the 1950s, use of marijuana increased again, along with that of amphetamines and tranquilizers.
The social upheaval of the 1960s brought with it a dramatic increase in drug use and some increased social acceptance; by the early 1970s some states and localities had decriminalized marijuana and lowered drinking ages.
The 1980s brought a decline in the use of most drugs, but cocaine and crack use soared. The military became involved in border patrols for the first time, and troops invaded Panama and brought its de facto leader, Manuel Noriega, to trial for drug trafficking.
Throughout the years, the public's perception of the dangers of specific substances changed. The surgeon general's warning label on tobacco packaging gradually made people aware of the addictive nature of nicotine.
By 1995, the Food and Drug Administration was considering its regulation. The recognition of fetal alcohol syndrome brought warning labels to alcohol products. The addictive nature of prescription drugs such as diazepam (Valium) became known, and caffeine came under scrutiny as well.
Drug laws have tried to keep up with the changing perceptions and real dangers of substance abuse. By 1970 over 55 federal drug laws and countless state laws specified a variety of punitive measures, including life imprisonment and even the death penalty.
To clarify the situation, the Comprehensive Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Act of 1970 repealed, replaced, or updated all previous federal laws concerned with narcotics and all other dangerous drugs.
While possession was made illegal, the severest penalties were reserved for illicit distribution and manufacture of drugs. The act dealt with prevention and treatment of drug abuse as well as control of drug traffic.
The Anti-Drug Abuse Acts of 1986 and 1988 increased funding for treatment and rehabilitation; the 1988 act created the Office of National Drug Control Policy. Its director, often referred to as the drug “czar,” is responsible for coordinating national drug control policy.
STEP 2           ORIGIN OF THE USE OF HARD DRUGS:

As time went by, "home remedies" were discovered and used to alleviate:

i.                   aches,
ii.                 pains and
iii.              other ailments.
Most of these preparations were herbs, roots, mushrooms or fungi. They had to be eaten, drunk, rubbed on the skin, or inhaled to achieve the desired effect.
These were all naturally occurring substances. No refinement had occurred, and isolation of specific compounds (drugs) had not taken place.

Religious rites

Certain of these preparations were discovered to produce euphoria, exaltation, and trance-like states. Many of these were used in religious rites. Drugs also were used:
·         To see visions or gain insights
·         To dull the pain of ritual mutilation in initiation ceremonies
·         To enhance the strength and pain resistance of warriors to prepare them for battle, or to program them to kill
·         As pain or hunger suppressants
·         To help cope with thin air at high altitudes
·         To relax during celebrations
By current standards, the historical use of herbal preparations was not too harmful. It became so only after mankind learned to increase the potency and effects of these substances.
STEP 3           CLASSIFICATION OF HARD DRUGS:

i.                    Cocaine.
ii.                  Marijuana.
iii.                Nicotine.
iv.               Opiates.
v.                 Steroids
vi.               Ecstasy.
vii.             Mushrooms etc.

STEP 4           IS HARD DRUG CONSUMPTION AND USE A RESULTANT EFFECT OF CIVILIZATION?

From all indications drug use is as old as humanity which predates civilization. It will therefore be an overstatement to ascribe the consumption of drug to civilization.

It may however, be argued that civilization has led to the increase in its consumption, for many who would have known nothing about hard drugs have been exposed to such drugs either by industrialization, trafficking, sales and promotion.

STEP 5           WHY DO PEOPLE USE OR CONSUME HARD DRUGS?
People take drugs for many reasons:
i.                  peer pressure,
ii.           relief of stress,
iii.         increased energy,
iv.        to relax,
v.           to relieve pain,
vi.        to escape reality,
vii.      to feel more self-esteem,
viii.   for recreation.
They may take stimulants to keep alert, or cocaine for the feeling of excitement it produces. Athletes and bodybuilders may take anabolic steroids to increase muscle mass.
STEP 6           WHAT DOES THE CONSUMPTION OF HARD DRUGS DO FOR THE USERS AND IN THEIR LIVES?
The effects of drug use and abuse can be felt on many levels:
i.                          on the individual,
ii.                 on friends and family,
iii.              on society.

On the Individual

People who use drugs experience a wide array of physical effects other than those expected. The excitement of cocaine high, for instance, is followed by a “crash”:
i.                   a period of anxiety,
ii.                 fatigue, depression,
iii.              an acute desire for more cocaine to alleviate the feelings of the crash.
Marijuana and alcohol interfere with motor control and are factors in many automobile accidents. Users of marijuana and hallucinogenic drugs may experience flashbacks, unwanted recurrences of the drug's effects weeks or months after use. Sudden abstinence from certain drugs results in withdrawal symptoms.
For example, heroin withdrawal can cause:
i.                          vomiting,
ii.                 muscle cramps,
iii.              convulsions,
iv.              delirium.
With the continued use of a physically addictive drug, tolerance develops; i.e., constantly increasing amounts of the drug are needed to duplicate the initial effect.
Sharing hypodermic needles used to inject some drugs dramatically increases the risk of contracting AIDS and some types of hepatitis.
In addition, increased sexual activity among drug users, both in prostitution and from the disinhibiting effect of some drugs, also puts them at a higher risk of AIDS and other sexually transmitted diseases.
Because the purity and dosage of illegal drugs are uncontrolled, drug overdose is a constant risk. There are over 10,000 deaths directly attributable to drug use in the United States every year; the substances most frequently involved are:
i.                   cocaine,
ii.                 heroin,
iii.              morphine, often combined with alcohol or other drugs.
Many drug users engage in criminal activity, such as burglary and prostitution, to raise the money to buy drugs, and some drugs, especially alcohol, are associated with violent behavior.

Effects on the Family

The user's preoccupation with the substance, plus its effects on mood and performance, can lead to marital problems and poor work performance or dismissal.
Drug use can disrupt family life and create destructive patterns of codependency, that is, the spouse or whole family, out of love or fear of consequences, inadvertently enables the user to continue using drugs by covering up, supplying money, or denying there is a problem.
Pregnant drug users, because of the drugs themselves or poor self-care in general, bear a much higher rate of low birth-weight babies than the average.
Many drugs (e.g., crack and heroin) cross the placental barrier, resulting in addicted babies who go through withdrawal soon after birth, and fetal alcohol syndrome can affect children of mothers who consume alcohol during pregnancy.
Pregnant women who acquire the AIDS virus through intravenous drug use pass the virus to their infant.

Effects on Society

Drug abuse affects society in many ways. In the workplace it is costly in terms of lost work time and inefficiency. Drug users are more likely than nonusers to have occupational accidents, endangering themselves and those around them.
Over half of the highway deaths in the United States involve alcohol. Drug-related crime can disrupt neighborhoods due to violence among:
i.                          drug dealers,
ii.                 threats to residents,
iii.              the crimes of the addicts themselves.
In some neighborhoods, younger children are recruited as lookouts and helpers because of the lighter sentences given to juvenile offenders, and guns have become commonplace among children and adolescents.
The great majority of homeless people have either a drug or alcohol problem or a mental illness—many have all three.
The federal government of U.S budgeted $17.9 billion on drug control in 1999 for:
i.                          interdiction,
ii.                 prosecution,
iii.              international law enforcement,
iv.              prisons, treatment,
v.                 prevention,
vi.              related items.
In 1998, drug-related health care costs in the United States came to more than $9.9 billion.
STEP 7           ADDICTION DEFINED:
Addiction is more often now defined by the continuing, compulsive nature of the drug use despite physical and/or psychological harm to the user and society and includes both licit and illicit drugs, and the term “substance abuse” is now frequently used because of the broad range of substances (including alcohol and inhalants) that can fit the addictive profile.
Psychological dependence is the subjective feeling that the user needs the drug to maintain a feeling of well-being; physical dependence is characterized by tolerance (the need for increasingly larger doses in order to achieve the initial effect) and withdrawal symptoms when the user is abstinent.
Drug addiction is thought of as an adjunctive behavior, or a subordinate behavior catalyzed by deeper, more significant psychological and biological stimuli.
It is not just a pharmacological reaction to a chemical but a mode of compensation for a decrease in Darwinian fitness. There are three main components involved in substance addiction:
i.                   developmental attachment,
ii.                 pharmacological mechanism, and
iii.              social phylogeny including social inequality, dominance, and social dependence.
Drugs and chemical addiction is a near impossible incurable mental disease.
STEP 8           REHABILITATION AND RECOVERY OF DRUG ADDICTS:
Treatment of substance abusers depends upon the severity and nature of the addiction, motivation, and the availability of services. Some users may come into treatment voluntarily and have the support of family, friends, and workplace.
Others may be sent to treatment by the courts against their will and have virtually no support system. Most people in drug treatment have a history of criminal behavior; approximately one third are sent by the criminal justice system.
Both pharmacological and behavioral treatments are used, often augmented by educational and vocational services. Treatment may include:
i.                          detoxification,
ii.                 therapy,
iii.              support groups, such as the 12-step groups Alcoholics Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous, and Cocaine Anonymous.
Many people have a notion and believe that drug use (consumption of hard drugs) is the bad habit cultivated, developed and imbibed by people. In other words, addiction especially drug or chemical addiction comes into someone’s life because of the bad habits developed, or imbibed by the person in abusing drugs.

As true as the above statement is, as soon as the drugs alter the behavioural pattern of the user, by altering the chemical substance in the brain, leading to a change in chemical metabolism of the body, addiction sets in which proves to be beyond the control of the victim – resulting into an incurable mental disease.

NB:     Since we have come to the understanding of why people give themselves and lives over to hard drugs use and consumption, we owe our generation and world an obligation of offering services that will take the problems away from the general public before they seek their own ways or solutions to problems bulldozing them in life.

We should therefore stop putting blames on civilization, industrialization and modernity, for drugs and its consumption had been with us right from the inception, and as old as the creation of the world.

VOICE OF GOD

VOICE OF GOD

In an attempt to venture into writing on the voice of God, the following thought provoking questions must be answered adequately.

i.                    Does God speak?
ii.                  Did He speak in the past? How did He?
iii.                Does God still speak today? How does He speak?
iv.               Will God speak in the future? How will He do so?

Correct and adequate answers to the thought provoking questions listed above should be able to help our present world and dispensation out of the confusion of this age.

SCRIPTURE CONCERNING THE VOICE OF GOD:

“God who at sundry times and in diverse manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the Prophets, hath in these last days spoken unto us by His Son, whom He Hath appointed heir of all things by whom also He made the world.” Heb. 1:1-2.

God used many approaches to send His messages to people of old. He spoke to Isaiah in visions – Isa. 6; He spoke to Jacob in a dream – Gen. 28:10-22; He spoke to Abraham and Moses personally – Gen. 18; Exo. 31:18.

However, Jesus is the fulfillment and culmination of God’s revelation through the centuries. Under the Old Testament, God used many ways and methodologies in speaking to people, but in the New Testament all was done through the Son who fulfills the law and the Prophets, thereby making the New Covenant – Math. 26:28; Acts 1:21. In the past, people are known for holding in highest esteem, the voice of God and they are thrilled that the Almighty God communicated with them or spake unto them.

The present day experience cannot be said to be the same as in the past, even though many more people than ever crave to hear God speak to them and they go to all length to entreat the Almighty to speak on matters of great concern and interest to them, as if the Almighty hath suddenly become unable to speak.

YES, God still speak but He can not be pressured or bulldozed to speak for He speaks when He chooses and by whatever methods. Because of the great reverence and respect people in the past had for the voice of God, and how fearfully they received the voice of God made them to ascribe mysteries and greatness to the voice of God as follows:-

Psalm 29:1-9

i.                    The voice of God is upon many waters – vs 3.
ii.                  The voice of God is thunder – vs 3.
iii.                Voice of God is powerful – vs 4; Ps. 104:3.
iv.               Voice of the Lord is full of majesty – vs 4; Ps. 104:3.
v.                 Voice of the Lord breakest the cedar of Lebanon – vs 5; Ps. 104:16.
vi.               The Voice of God of the Lord divided the flames of fire – vs 7.
vii.             The Voice of the Lord shaketh the wilderness – vs 8.
viii.            Voice of the Lord maketh the hinds to calve – vs 9
ix.                The Voice of the Lord discovereth the forest – vs 9.

The voice of the Lord as listed above denotes the awesome power of the Almighty God for as He uttereth His voice, the earth and the universe in its entirety shook, vibrating – Ps. 46:6.

The voice of God’s thunder was in heavens, the lightening lightens the world, the earth trembled and shook – Ps. 77:18.

VOICE OF GOD IS LIKE THAT OF A ROARING LION:

“He shall roar like a lion, when He does, the children shall tremble from the west.” Hos. 11:10.

“The Lord shall roar from on high and utter His voice from Hid holy habitation.” Jer. 25:30.

“The Lord shall roar out of Zion, and utter His voice from Jerusalem; and the heavens and earth shall shake.” Joel 3:16; Amos 1:2.

“Voice of the Lord through thunder and lightening and as Moses spake God answered him by His voice.” Exo. 19:16-19.

The voice of God by thunder terrified the people – Exo. 20:18.

NB: The greatness and terrifying voice of the Almighty, made the people of old to reverence the voice of the Almighty God.

VOICE OF GOD AS STILL SMALL VOICE - 1 KING 19:9-12:

i.                    God was not in the strong wind that preceded the voice of God.
ii.                  God was also not in the thunder.
iii.                God was also not in the fire that preceded this voice.

Verse 12 was when the gentle still voice came unto His Prophet.

NB: This shows that God can not be limited in the ways He chooses to speak.

VOICE OF GOD IS GLORIOUS – ISA. 30:30:

“The Lord shall cause His glorious voice to be heard…..”

i.                    The Lord shall cause His glorious voice to be heard.
ii.                  Show the lightening down His arms.
iii.                With indignation of His anger.
iv.               With the flame of a devouring fire.
v.                 With scattering, tempest and hail stone.

NB: Prophet Isaiah in this passage of the Scripture considers the voice of God as a Glorious Voice which when sounded upon situations in life; our enemies will tremble and fizzle away. Praise God!

WHY IS REVERENCE FOR THE VOICE OF GOD DWINDLING OR DECREASING IN OUR GENERATION AND WORLD TODAY?

i.                    Many people in our world are completely confused, as to whether or not Almighty God still speaks like of old.
ii.                  Preachers and Teachers of the Word have failed to teach the people rightly on God’s voice.
iii.                Proliferation of fake Prophets in our world, which has lead to high deception and extortion of the public on daily basis by these fake Prophets.
iv.               Inability of people to separate the voice of God, from that of Satan, demons, world, man and that of the mind.
v.                 Those who should teach the public about the fear of God and the power in His voice, themselves have no single fear for the Almighty God.
vi.               Many have adulterated the voice of God and have thereby made the voice of Almighty God to be less meaningful.
vii.             The increase of ignorance on the part of the public of what the voice of Almighty God is.

There is no doubts whatsoever that Almighty God spake in the past through various media and ways to His people. There is also no doubts that even now, the Almighty God still speaks to His people in an unlimited ways. This same Almighty God who will dwell with His people in the eternal future will still speak to His people in His eternal Kingdom – Rev. 21:3. praise God !

We people of this age must come to an understanding of the fact that God’s voice can not be compartmentalized and can speak to us by whatever ways He chooses.

i.                    By fire as of old – Exo. 3:2; 19:18.
ii.                  By the storm as of old – Nah. 1:3-5.
iii.                In the cloud and amongst cloud as of old – Exo. 19:9; 16:10-11.
iv.               In vision/dreams as of old - Gen. 28:10-22; Isa. 6; Ezek 1; Acts 11:5.
v.                 In trance as of old Num. 24:4, 16; Acts 10:10.
vi.               Audibly as of old – Exo. 3:4-6; 19:19.
vii.             By still small voice as of old – 1 Kings 19:9-12.

Carers and Handlers

Carers and Handlers
In the dog section of the Nigerian Police Force, there are trained dog handlers and carers. They are professional dog handlers and carers, who never toy with the lives of the dogs they are called to serve and care for.
In the mounted troupes of the same Nigeria Police Force; there are handlers, carers and riders. These trained horse handlers, carers and riders are professionally trained and they do not toy with the lives of such horses they are called to serve and handle.
Likewise, chaplains are opportuned to be carers and handlers of human lives. These chaplains have to be professionally trained to enable them care adequately for all mankind.
Professional chaplains must be able to take responsibility for adequate care and handling of people’s life in the following ways:-
a.     Professional chaplains must provide the needed care for human lives, as professional carers and handlers.
b.     Professional chaplains are expected to take responsibility for handling life issues professionally.
c.      Professional chaplains are expected to be managers of lives and people; and must not be find toying with people’s God-given lives.
Chaplains who have a mandate and duty to people of our age, rise up now to your responsibilities.
Addressing Problems:
1.     Problems of any kind, form or magnitude must be addressed rightly for enduring, sustainable and permanent solutions where necessary.
2.     In addressing problems; those who take responsibility for addressing problems must do so objectively, without any sentiment or bias.
3.     In addressing problems, people who take responsibility for such must employ the right approach known and called solution based approach.
4.     In addressing problems, those called with such responsibility must of necessity employ skills and tacts; to enable them proffer the needed solutions to problems.
5.     Problem-solvers, must not only make themselves ready to address problems as they arise; but must also be trained and equipped to enable them offer such services professionally.
This informs our advocacy in Prodam-J Chaplaincy Concept, for professional trainings for chaplains. Jamboree chaplaincy exposes the profession and her people to ridicule and shame. Get trained now to enable you address problems rightly.

Government Recognition

Government Recognition
For some times now, chaplains in Nigeria have been asking or seeking government recognition, without taking pains to understand the simple Dictionary definition of recognition; what a pity!
Recognition my people is never granted on a platter of gold, it is granted through a labourious process. When we call for government recognition, we are simply asking the government of the day to acknowledge our achievements as chaplains in Nigeria. Where are these achievements?
Asking for government recognition is also simply asking the government of the day to identify with us in recognizing our achievements. What a pity!
Let us work hard from now to make beneficial and positive achievements in chaplaincy practice and service delivery and the recognition will come automatically.

CIRCUMCISION, PAST, PRESENT AND FUTURE

CIRCUMCISION, PAST, PRESENT AND FUTURE

A Theological discourse and investigation by
Archbishop Prof. Mike D.D. JP, AP.
Consultant Theologian and Anthropologist.

Circumcision which is generally defined and accepted as the removal or cutting of the foreskin of a male genital organ started in the past ages as discovered and commanded by the Almighty God for His chosen people, the nation of Israel.

Circumcision, we need to come to an understanding of the fact that it has both physical and spiritual connotations and as such it has both physical and spiritual interpretations as well.

In this discourse, an attempt is being made to X-ray circumcision in the past, in the present and even in the future, to bring humanity to the understanding of;

i.                    God’s purpose for commanding such in the time past.
ii.                  What this means today (contemporary times).
iii.                What it signifies in the future.

It must be understood that right from the inception, the demand and the command was not general; it was specific, directed and demanded from a particular set of people, a holy nation chosen by God Almighty Himself. The nation and the people of God who were to be separated unto Him – Gen. 17:23-27.

CIRCUMCISION IN THE PAST:

Physical Connotation

The fore-skin of male genitals were to be cut as commanded by God in Abrahamic Covenant with His own people as a holy nation unto Him with distinct and unique personalities to showcase the glory of God amongst other nations of the world. Circumcision was therefore a distinguished factor between God’s people and others who did not know God nor worship Him as the Living God. This is a form of separation from the people of the world.

SPIRITUAL CONNOTATION:

Spiritually too, these people of God were to be separated and consecrated unto God in holiness as at the time of this covenant with Abraham. The Advent of Christ was yet to be made manifest and God demanded blood; as the fore-skin of male genitals were removed or cut to seal the covenant with blood and thus becoming a blood covenant between God and His chosen people.

Circumcision in the past was a part of Abrahamic Covenant, which was a sign of the promised Redeemer out of the loins of Abraham and of His works for all who wished to put off the sins of the flesh and serve God as New Creatures. Since Christ came physical circumcision avails nothing – Gal. 5:6; Col. 3:11. The blood was to be a cover and shadow for the remission of sin until Christ would be made manifest.
WHY MALE CIRCUMCISION?

When we have the understanding of the mystery of God’s creation as recorded in the Bible in the creation account of humanity that He God created them male and female and yet Adam (the male) was the one revealed at that time, until Adam female (Eve) was revealed much later on, we will appreciate the fact that Adam (male) concealed and incubated the Adam (female) who was later revealed as God brought her out of the Adam male.

The blood covenant was perfected by God with the male who incubated the female makes both the incubator and the one incubated holy and acceptable unto God.

Circumcision in the past was to make God’s covenant people unique unto Him, different from other people in the world and separated unto Him alone.  Circumcision in the past is pointing to the circumcision of the present and as well as that of future.

CIRCUMCISION IN THE PRESENT :

Christian circumcision is circumcision today, is in the heart/mind or spirit and not in the flesh – Rom. 2:28-29; 1 Cor. 7:19; Phil. 3:3; Col. 2:11.

Christ Advent brought to a close the physical removal of the fore-skin of male genitals and instituted another form and higher circumcision known as the “circumcision of the heart or mind and spirit of a Christian.

Although, almost all nations and people of the world had accepted physical circumcision for hygiene purposes, Christ institution of a new order was a shift in paradigm. God is still interested that His own people in the Church Age be consecrated to Him holy and without spot and wrinkle, but Christ blood offered to humanity was superior to the ordinary blood of human being or that of animal.

God’s commandment and desire at this time is that the mind and heart of every Christian be circumcised by the Spirit of the Living God to make modern man unique and acceptable unto God as covenant people of His. We need to come to the understanding that God hath remained constantly constant in His covenant, desires and commands but He can never be stareotory  and thus in different ages, the unchanging changer brings into play paradigm shift.

People were circumcised unto Him in the time past, people are being circumcised unto Him unto Him presently and He will finally be circumcised away from His enemies in the eternal future.

CIRCUMCISION IN THE FUTURE:

God, who is the same yesterday, today, tomorrow and forever, has always demonstrated Himself a constant God and so shall He remain.

In the future, God at the Second Advent of Christ after the Millennium Reign, will re-establish the eternal Kingdom in eternity future and circumcised Himself from His enemies (the uncircumcised wicked people and powers), before sending them to the lake of fire. Praise God!
NB:      Covenant people in the eternity past were commanded to be circumcised unto God. Christ came by His Advent – was circumcised unto God the Father, and He instituted  circumcision of the heart, mind, soul and spirit in the Church Age time.

God Himself, will perfect the covenant and circumcision, as He will be circumcised form His enemies

Circumcising yourself from this world, as you are not of this world and you are therefore commanded to come out of them by the Almighty God –

The message issued in the past is still the message for us in the contemporary times.

“Circumcise yourself from them (the world),”
“Come out of them (the world)” and
Be consecrated and separated unto God alone.
2 cor. 6:17

Just as the Almighty God commanded the people of the nation of Israel to be circumcised from the world unto Him alone in consecration and holiness in the time past (eternity past), God is presently asking His own people today to be circumcised from the world by His Spirit and be consecrated unto Him alone in holiness.

WHAT EXACTLY ARE WE TO BE CIRCUMCISED FROM OR GET OUT FROM AS WE ARE NOT PART OF THE WORLD?

1.     The practice of the people of the world that is not attuned to God Almighty.
2.     The world systems.
3.     The pleasures of this world.
4.     The pollution of this world.
5.     The contamination of this world.
6.     The deception of this world.
7.     The sins of the people of this age.
8.     The corruption of this world and age.
9.     The falsehood of this age.
10.                        The practices of this age.
11.                        The perversion of the world etc.
